What a week

We arrived home from our week of working at camp Intermediate 1. Jim was the head of the bible program and assisted Matt when needed. I worked the office. It was a remarkable week. I know everyone says that, but we truly had a very special week. It ran like a "well oiled" machine. As they say, you can get back on the bicycle when you've been off it for sometime.

As I mentioned before, our son, Matt, was the director of the week and he did a fabulous job. He had a great staff that he was blessed to "hand-pick". The only thing that would have made it better was if our daughter, Megan would have been able to work. Megan and Lindsay (our soon-to-be son-in-love) visited, but work schedules did not allow them to stay for the week.

We are already looking forward to next year with our theme already picked out and Lord willing, we will be able to make it a reality for the 4th and 5th grade campers. the staff worked very well together serving the campers and strengthening each other throughout the week.

We had a very good group of campers. We were blessed with great weather and only had Hot, Humid, Hazy days on Thursday-Saturday (the day we left camp). We saw the meshing of the staff and the campers as the week progressed.

The camp experience is one that is so special. I will be honest, Jim and I weren't really looking forward to it since it has been over 7 years since we worked Intermediate 1 and boy were we blessed!!!! Check out the blog for Intermediate 1. We hope to have all the pictures posted in the next few days and plan to have updates on happenings of those that attended the 2008 session. God is SOOOOO good!!! I know that I say that alot on the blog and now I own a T-shirt with it on!!! Thanks Manatawny...God is good all the time.....all the time God is good!

"Back in the saddle again"

Tomorrow morning we leave bright and early to prepare for sharing Christ with approx 80 10-11-year old children. Our son, Matt, is directing a week at Camp Manatawny. Jim and I are assisting him, as well as some others that worked with Jim and I approx 8 years ago! We're going to be "back in the saddle" so to speak. I'll be running the office and Jim is working with the bible program and assisting Matt. It will be a very rewarding week I'm sure. I know that it will a different kind of week as well. It is such a blessing to watch your children mature in their walk with the Lord. We are so blessed.

Pray for this coming week as we serve these children and fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ while we serve.

Have a great week of daily blessings!
