10.10.10-the day that changed everything

It's been a little over a month since I last wrote anything on my blog!! Life has definitely changed since my last post. Jim and I are grandparents!! We were expecting our little grandson the end of this month, but he decided that earlier was a better option.

Jackson Lindsay Rice was born on Sunday October 10, 2010 at 7:12 p.m. weighing 6lbs 12 oz and 21" long. He is perfect, beautiful, healthy, and as I say often exceptional!! Jim and I couldn't be happier. God has blessed us beyond measure. Mimi, as I will be called and Grumps, as Jim will be called have enjoyed getting to know Jackson over these past two weeks. Uncle Matthew, has enjoyed becoming an uncle and has also have some great bonding times with Jackson. Mommy and Daddy are doing well.

I had the privilege to be a co-coach with Lindsay for the delivery and words to express what occurred I still can't describe. It is an event that I will never forget and when I recall Jackson's birth I still tear up like it just happened a few hours ago!! Our lives were changed on 10.10.10 and we never want it to be the same again. From the moment he was born we lost our hearts to this little one.

We know what an awesome responsibility we have as Jackson's grandparents to teach him, along with his parents, how precious He is and how God specifically made Him and loves Him. My everyday tasks now revolve around the fact that Jackson is here!!! As a grandparent and mother, life becomes more prioritize with the best of things in a day.

We are thankful for this little piece of heaven that our daughter and son-in-love are parenting. Their son, Jackson, has been a true gift to them. They are great parents and work together to do what is best for Jackson and their new family. It give us great proud and emotion to see them care and nuture Jackson. This blessing is again something so undeserving, but something that we are cherishing. My heart is full of great joy!
