It's official

Last Saturday morning, Jim received a phone call that our daughter's boyfriend wanted to come over to visit with us Saturday evening. Our daughter was on a girls weekend in NYC. We felt very honored that Lindsay wanted our blessing to ask our daughter, Megan to marry him! The above picture is the location Jim and I were at when we got the call last evening (12.14.07), near the water fountains. Lindsay and Megan were in a quiet "blue" garden area. Here is the following events to the proposal!!

All four of us had tickets to the Longwood Gardens ice skating and garden event, so Lindsay would propose there early and then we would join up together to watch the show and go to a late dinner. Sounds pretty simple :-D

After a few glitches that evening with traffic and not being able to propose before the skating event, it took place and, as Megan puts it, it was very romantic and caught her somewhat off-guard!!! The wedding will be around this time next year between early Nov or Dec (that is what they are saying today...but we'll see).

We then all went out for a late dinner. Megan's comment to me was "it just doesn't seem real", and as I hugged her I said, "if you only knew my child...and you will someday. " "Dad and I are so happy for you and Lindsay and love you very much."

Jim and I are looking SO forward to getting to know Lindsay much better and we are growing to love and respect him already. He truly loves our daughter. So many changes are taking place in our circle of life and we feel SO very blessed that the children want us to be a large part of it. Personally, please keep Lindsay and Megan in your prayers as they prepare for the wedding and begin their lives together. Enjoy the pictures we took these inside because, though it was a beautiful night it was getting chilly.
