2nd annual Kidney Walk 2009

What a gorgeous day we had for the 2nd annual Kidney Walk in Delaware!

TEAM WILSON and over 1000 other individuals (some were groups) participated walking approximately 2 miles around the grounds of the beautiful Rockford Park in Wilmington, DE on 10.4.09!!

Jim and I are so thankful for all the donations and especially the prayers for the success of this walk again this year. We were humbled by the response and so thankful for those that were able to walk beside us this year. After the walk we had a time of food and fun back at our home.

Wilmington University purchased special T-shirts for the event for Team Wilson and the Men's Soccer team also did several fund raisers for the event on behalf of Team Wilson as well as participating in the walk. We had several students from the Campus Ministry participate in the walk with as well. We were surrounded by friends and family what a blessing!

I have a follow up board meeting the beginning of November to see exactly what the grand total was for the walk. This walk enables the donations to go directly to individuals who are fighting chronic kidney disease, or renal failure. This opportunity has been in the making for almost 5 years and it is always a wonderful feeling to see how it has grown. The 1st walk (2009) was a very positive success and this year we had another successful event.

Jim and I are personally grateful for the impact of the National Kidney Foundation here in Delaware. We are blessed to have a top-notch Transplant Center only a few miles from our home. God has provided so many gifted professionals and a network for not only us, but all who live in Delaware to have quality care.

Thank you again for your prayers and continued support.

So glad to hear of the success and great day! Am interested in learning more about this. Gabi has been diagnosed with a kidney disease because of her other disease. However we are just watching it at this point. Can you tell me about Jim?
Praying God's healing touch over him and thru him....

The Kidney foundation website offers alot of information. My understanding is there is a "chapter" in the York area, which is probably not too far from you all and could be your "contact" for information and activities, etc.
